223,912. Millett, H. J. Oct. 25, 1923, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Locking nuts.-A nut 13 is locked to a bolt 9 by means of a cap or arm 10 which fits over the nut and also engages a rectangular, segmental or like projection 8 on the end of the bolt. A split pin 14 is passed through a hole in the projection 8 to secure the cap. In a modification the cap 10 and projection 8 are dispensed with, and a split pin 15, Fig. 4, having a downwardly extending portion 16 adapted to engage an angle or flat on the nut is used to lock it.
