Abstract
314,652. I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.- Ges. May 31, 1928. Addition to 285,502. Pyranthrone derivatives.-The process of the parent Specification is modified by heating polyhalogenpyranthrones with nitrogen-containing carbocyclic compounds in which at least one reactive hydrogen atom is connected to the nitrogen atom, in the presence of copper in the metallic or combined form as catalyst in comparatively large amounts, i.e. about 5 per cent or more, calculated as metal, of the theoretically possible yield of reaction product, whereby several or all of the halogen atoms are substituted by nitrogenous carbocyclic residues. In examples, tri- and tetrabromopyranthrone are boiled with alpha-aminoanthraquinone, sodium acetate and copper oxide in nitrobenzene. The use of penta-, hexa-, and heptahalogenpyranthrones and of aminoanthrones and aminopyranthrones is mentioned. Halogen pyranathrones are obtained by treating pyranthrone in chlorsulphonic acid with halogen.
