Packing-materials.-A substitute wadding comprises cotton, cotton waste, fly, strip, jute, kapok, or other fibrous material w applied to a skin of minutely crinkled, roughened, or " keying " tissue paper t, on one or both sides of it, with or without an adhesive or sizing agency. The fibre is cleaned and opened and fed to a crossfolder or " Blamines " feed i, and with the paper t passes through light presser rolls l to rollers m, which wind it up on the mandrel or bar n. Various methods of cleaning and opening the fibre ane referred to.
