Driving-arrangements.-In a windscreen cleaner operated by an electric motor, the knob b which serves to impart a starting or stopping movement to the motor is provided with a toothed part j for engagement with a toothed sector i secured to the wiper arm, whereby movement of the wiper from an inoperative to an operative position imparts a starting movement to the motor. The end f of the wiper arm is at the same time moved away from engagement with the end of the knob b, so that the latter is free to move outwardly under the action of the spring k thereby allowing the contacts c, d to close and the motor to be energized. A spring blade l provided on the sector i acts as a brake to stop the motor when the wiper is being moved to its out-of-use position.
