Abstract

353,336. Windscreen wipers. WINDOVER, W. L. S., 475, Oxford Street, London. Oct. 17, 1930, No. 31130. [Class 138 (i).] Electric wiper-operating mechanism A carried by a windscreen frame C is provided with a stem or like electric contact D, fixed or spring- controlled, which connects with a spring or fixed contact F on the windscreen rail E whereby, when the screen is closed or nearly so, a circuit may be closed and the wiper actuated. A switch may be provided between the battery and the rest of the mechanism. The ball F and spring H may be replaced by a bent spring, or a contact of S-form may be used. The flat wiper K is mounted on an arm L carried by a rod M in gear with the motor in the casing A. The rod M may be moved endwise, controlled by a spring N, the free end of the rod being bent at M<1> so that when the wiper is not required the end M<1> may be placed in a hole within a projection P.
