Abstract
362,157. Vehicle anti dazzle screens. KINNEY, J. R., 92, Dunster Road, Jamaica Plain, Boston, U.S.A. Dec. 3, 1930, No. 36503. [Class 103 (ii).] In an antidazzledevice for use on motor cars a coloured screen 20 is clamped to a rotatable shaft 17 which is supported by a U-shaped bracket 12 on the windscreen frame 10 and is provided with a pulley 26 operated by a chain 37 connected to a lever 41 which retains the screen in the operative position. A coiled spring 33 extends at one end through one arm 13 of the bracket to form a yielding stop for the screen when lowered and at its other end coacts with one of a number of lateral .projections 32 on the pulley so as to hold the screen in an inoperative position. The chain 37, comprising a series of balls 38 with cylindrical connectors 45 is connected to the lever 41 by one of the connectors engaging a slot in the cup-shaped socket 44 of a member 43 pivotally mounted on the lever 41. The pulley 26 comprises two outer discs 27, 28 and two inner grooved discs 29 all riveted together so that the grooves form sockets to receive a pin 36 for attaching the chain 37.
