Abstract

267,419. Cacheux, R. Sept. 4, 1926, [Convention date]. Road-traffic signals on vehicles.-A tubular arm carrying the indicating lamp at one end is telescopic and is adjustably pivoted at the other end to a bracket fixed to the vehicle, by means of mating projections and notches and a holding spring. The part 3 carries the lamp 5 and, after adjustment, is clamped to the part 1 by the bolt 9. The part 1 has an enlarged end 2 which has notches 20 engaging projections 19 on the bracket 14. The members 2 and 14 are, pivotally connected by a bolt 15 and a spring 17 which presses the notches and projections together so that the arm is held in its various positions. A flat spring 18 is also used. The circuit of the lamp is completed through a terminal 23 on an insulating disc 22 attached to the member 2 and a fixed contact 25. In a modification, where the device serves as a signal for the position of a motor vehicle, it is supported on the back of the reflecting driving mirror.
