Abstract

313,975. Ceskoslovenska Zbrojovka Akciova Spolecnost v. Brne. June 20, 1928, [Convention date]. Breech actions, sliding breech-block.-Relates to automatic guns in which the breech-block 1 is retained in open position by a pivoted spring- controlled firing hammer 3 engaging a notch c in the underside, of the block, the hammer having two noses 3a, 3b engaged by hooks 5a, 6 on a trigger lever 5, thereby necessitating one pull of the trigger 4 to release the breech-block and a second pull to release the hammer. According to the invention, a deep projection 1<a> is provided in front of the notch 1<c> which, during rapid closing of the breech-block under normal firing conditions, causes the hammer to be strongly depressed so that it misses the notch 1<c>. Single shots can thus be fired by one pull only of the trigger, the hammer being, depressed by the surface r and projection 1<b> on the block and retained only by the hook 5a, assuming the trigger is let go. The hook 6 is in the form of a lever pivoted to the trigger-lever and is pressed by one arm of the hammer spring 8 to engage the nose 3<b> and retain the hammer if the trigger is held pulled, the removal of pressure from the trigger causing the control to pass to the hook 5<a>. The loading plate 2 of the magazine retains the breech-block in open position when the magazine is empty, and the hammer engages the notch I<c> to retain the breech-block prior to firing the first shot, a double pull of the trigger being then required to close and fire the gun.
