Abstract

Ladders.-Convertible long and step ladders of the type in which a rod or bar on one part engages jaws in brackets disposed on the other part, are formed so that downwardly open jaws are provided on spring brackets h on the tread member to engage a cross rung f of the strut member. The limit of angular movement is reached by the angled tops k of the sides of the strut member engaging with projections l at the ends of the top step. To form a long ladder, the rung f is withdrawn from the spring jaws, and rungs on the stay member are supported in auxiliary brackets m disposed on the step member.
