Abstract

216,039. Davis, A. B. Oct. 6, 1923. Ladders of the type in which the rungs are pivoted to the sides so that the sides may be collapsed on each other laterally and enclose the rungs in grooves in the sides, are provided with stops 12 secured to the sides against which the ends of the rungs abut in the open position of the ladder. The stops may be wedge-shaped and may contact with both the tops and bottoms of the rungs at 15, 16: also they mav be formed integral with the sides or detachable therefrom. A stay 7 secures the ladder in open position. A top rung 9a may be fitted to the exterior of the sides.
