Abstract
311,421. Maschinenbau Akt.-Ges. vorm. Ehrhardt & Sehmer, (Assignees of Kalker Maschinenfabrik Akt.-Ges.). May 12, 1928, [Convention date]. Shearing; cutting profile bars; shear-blades. - A machine for cutting square and round iron, sheet iron, profile iron &c. has an adjustable lower cutter changeable according to the section to be cut and a moving cutter actuated by an eccentric but retained against complete rotation so that the cutter describes a path of elliptical character. The machine has a plate frame which houses the driving gearing and supports a heavy ring plate 3 that takes up the entire stress due to the cut. The lower cutter blades 5 are secured to a block 55 adjustable by screws 58 and worm gearing 57 from a hand wheel 56. Springs 60 permit yield to transmit stress to the ring 3 through an interchangeable backing plate 61. The upper and movable cutter is carried by a bush 50 eccentrically mounted in the boss 7 carrying the driving- wheel. A conical extension 51 of the bush 50 terminates in a flange having a slotted lug 52 engaging a roller 54 on the frame. The cutter thus receives a combined oscillating and reciprocating motion.
