Bedsteads convertible into seats. -In a chair convertible into a bedstead, a separate fitment is provided for application to the chair frame a, b, c, and which comprises three sections g, h, i hinged together, and each provided with a spring surface, the spring surfaces of the front and rear sections being resiliently connected to the spring surface of the central section, as by chains n and springs s. The transverse, bars g<2> of the central section are dropped, so as to lie, below the level of the, spring surface, and may support helical springs j<1>, the upper coils of which, together with chains and springs k<1>. from the central spring surface. The fitment may be detachably secured to the chair frame by screws t, and the pivot k may be arranged at a higher lervel than the pivot j to allow of compact folding.
