309,280. Silver Springs Bleaching & Dyeing Co., Ltd., and Hall, A. J. March 2, 1928. Mercerizing.-Cotton fabrics containing cellulose acetate silk or cellulose acetate and viscose silks are mercerized with caustic potash solution of a strength above 80‹ Tw. whereby the cellulose acetate is not saponified to an extent that it shows affinity for direct cotton dyes, and the viscose silk, if present, is not deleteriously affected. Specification 295,488 is referred to.
