Abstract
309,261. Sims, A. G., and Cort & Son, Ltd., R. Feb. 3, 1928. Rotary sieves. - Relates to screening-apparatus of the type comprising two cylindrical screens a, b eccentrically arranged and consists in the provision of intergeared driving shafts e, f arranged externally of both screens. In the arrangement shown, the outer screen a is driven by friction rollers c on a shaft e driven from a gear box h<1>. The inner screen is driven by friction rollers d on the shaft f driven from the shaft e by spur gearing h, i. In an alternative construction the friction rollers driving the screens are intergeared by an idler friction roller. The screens may comprise sections t of perforate material or a combination of perforate and imperforate material connected by clamping devices as described in Specification 282,879.
