719,979. Venetian blinds. AKTIESELSKABET C. FABERS FABRIKER. Sept. 17, 1952 [Sept. 24, 1951], No. 23385/52. Class 20 (3) A device for adjusting the angular position of Venetian blind slats which are supported by one or two shafts 26 extending horizontally in a top support 10 of the blinds, includes an adjusting handle 38 which is connected with the shaft 26 or one of the shafts by a flexible coupling 36. In the aperture in the support 10 through which shaft 36 passes, a sleeve 46 having a flange 48 is rigid with the shaft 36 and is rotatable within a bearing sleeve 42 provided with a flange 44. A flexible casing 50 encloses rod 38 and the part of coupling 36 directly beneath support 10. The blind slats are supported by pairs of strips such as 14 each one of a pair being secured to a cylinder secured to one of two parallel shafts which are coupled by gear wheels such as 32 for rotation in opposite directions. In a modification the flexible coupling 36 is connected with a separate axle having a gear wheel meshing with one or both of the gear wheels such as 32.
