[Also in Division A4] A roller blind apparatus e.g. for a road vehicle radiator comprises a spindle 5 on which a blind 13 is wound, the free end of the blind being fixed to a rod 14 (Fig. 3, not shown), which in turn is fixed to two endless actuating strips 11, one on either side of the apparatus, and means for moving the actuating strips. As shown, the strips 11 are of flexible metal and have holes which engage pins 9 in two pairs of sprockets 8 and 10. The sprockets 10 are mounted on the spindle 5 and sprockets 8 are mounted on the driving spindle 6, which is adapted to be driven by a flexible shaft 20 from a remote position. The flexible shaft 20 is connected at its other end to a handle 21, the handle being mounted on a bracket and connected to a threaded rotatable shaft whereon a nut is mounted which is prevented from rotating, the nut affording a visual indication of the position of the blind. The apparatus is contained in a rectangular frame with side members, each of which encloses the actuating strips 11, at least along its middle portion, apart from a narrow slit which receives the ends of rod 14.
