Abstract

484,243. Training aviators. LINK, jun., E. A. Feb. 22, 1937, No. 5229. Convention date, Sept. 30, 1936. [Class 4] Apparatus for training aviators comprising a dummy aircraft rotatably mounted on a support and controllable by a pupil, e.g. as described in Specifications 370,128 and 476,816, includes a recording-device which automatically indicates, on a chart or map, turning movements of the trainer. Turning movements of the dummy control through gearing a self-synchronous motor, the. impulses from which are transmitted through cables to a self-synchronous motor 27 mounted on the recording- device R. Rotation of the shaft of the motor 27 turns, through gearing 29, 31, 32, shafts 33, 34 carrying wheels 49 driven from motors 43 through gearing 46, 47. Current is led to the motors 43 from contacts 56 through brushes 44 and contact rings 45. The device R carries a marking-wheel engaged by an inking- roller 53 and turned in the correct direction by gearing 30, 35.
