Abstract

307,646. Yarrow, H. E. April 4, 1928. Water-tube boilers.-In a boiler of the Yarrow type having two steam drums A, A' connected by banks of tubes G, F with one or more water drums E, D on each side of the furnace, each water drum is connected to the steam drum on the opposite side of the furnace by one or more rows of straight or curved tubes H, which are more openly pitched longitudinally of the drums than the tubes G, F to prevent accumulation of deposits between the tubes while at the same time thev screen the steam drums from the direct radiation of the furnace. Superheaters or reheaters I are placed between the banks of the tubes on each side of the furnace.
