Abstract

Stropping-apparatus. - In a stropping-device for attachment to safety razors, a cross piece 1 is provided with flanges 2 which may be secured between the guard member 3 and the backing member 4 of the razor, while a flexible strop 8 is passed between rounded portions 9 on the cross piece and a roller 6 mounted between lugs 5. The blade-holder comprises a member 10 fixed to a spindle 12 and a member 11 pivoted on this spindle, the blade being located by studs secured to the member 10. The central stud is fitted with a head 21 coacting with the slot in a pivoted clamping-plate 18 to lock the blade holding members together. The spindle 12 is connected to the roller 6 by gears 14, 7 so that when, in operation, the razor is reciprocated along the strop, the blade holder is swung over at the ends of the stroke to strop each side of the blade alternately.
