Abstract

127,158. Fenwich, G. Aug. 10, 1918. Hones.-In order to allow doubleedged safety-razor blades to be sharpened whilst in the holder, a hone having the section shown in Fig. 1 is used. Only the edge portions b, b are operative, the recessed part a accommodating the front clamp g of the holder, as shown in Fig. 7. Non-abrasive end guides c may also be provided to co-operate with the edges of the safety shield f. The hone may be of U, H, or X-section, and made of solid abrasive material, or of metal, wood, &c. with abrasive fixed or applied to the operative edges in any suitable manner. In the modification shown in Fig. 6, solid pieces b of abrasive are held in position in a U-shaped frame by means of a spring clip d.
