Abstract
330,359. Amesbury, W. L. R. April 23, 1929. Stropping-apparatus for safety razor blades comprises two spring plates h to the edges of which are attached leather, or rubber and leather, strips k treated with abrasive material. The plates are formed with three holes l to receive dowel pins on a plate a similar to the ordinary safety razor, a comb plate b being also provided. Sharpening of the blade p is effected by alternately compressing and releasing the spring plates, for which purpose the end of the handle may be bored to receive the centre dowel pin, the handle then acting as a plunger. Alternative forms of construction are described in which the leather strips are dispensed with, or one spring plate only may be used, the blade resting on a leather strip mounted on a rubber block which may be fixed to a metal plate.
