284,428. Rolls Razor (1927), Ltd., and Smith, H. M. Melville-. Nov. 29, 1926. Stropping -apparatus. - In a device for honing or stropping razors comprising a box A provided with a removable strop and a removable hone and having therein racks F with which engage pinions on a bladecarrying spindle D, the pin G on which the blade is mounted is frictionally held between a shoulder D' on the spindle and a spring H, the pressure of which may be adjusted by a nut H<1>.In a modification, two adjustable springs are provided, bearing one against each side of the pin. Fig. 5 shows a construction in which the pin is moved along the spindle during the reciprocation of the blade along the strop &c., the spindle having a screw-thread engaging the pin, which is held frictionally by springs J, J<1>.
