Abstract

306,283. Bain & Co., Ltd., W., and Douglas, J. B. Feb. 22, 1928. Draught excluders.-A sliding-bar draught excluder 3 for the bottom or top edges of doors &c. of the kind which is carried by pins with or without rollers engaging cam slots in the excluder strip, is provided with cam slots 4 which are partly inclined and partly horizontal and, as the door opens, give first a lifting and then a sliding motion as the strip is actuated by the link 10. The strip may be made in two parts 3<a> and 3<b> of which the part 3b forms one boundary of the horizontal part of the slot. The strip may be padded with felt &c. or rubber sheeting may be attached thereto in channel shape by inserting its edges in grooves in the strip. The excluder may be mounted on the inner or outer side of the door and may be applied to double swing doors by adding a second reversed slot as shown in Fig. 8. A form of roller mounting is shown in Fig. 10 and consists of a plate 16, screwed to the door, provided with a boss 18 carrying the roller 6. A cover-plate 8 is screwed on the end of the boss.
