462,918. Double casement windows ; window guards. FISK, E. T. Oct. 29, 1935, Nos. 29809 and 29810. Convention dates, Dec. 8, 1934 and Jan. 24, 1935. [Class 20 (iii)] A window for minimizing sound transmission while permitting ventilation comprises two or more sashes 53, 54, partially closing the opening and leaving spaces 55, 56 at opposite ends or sides. The reveals lintel and sill are faced with sound absorbing material. One or more of the sashes may be hinged and additional hinged sashes may be mounted on the inner and outer sides at the lintel and sill also two sliding sashes 65, 66, balanced one against the other may be provided to close the opening completely in conjunction with the hinged sashes 61, 62. Roller sun blinds 76, 80 may be mounted on the sashes. One of the hinged panels may be tiltable against an adjacent one to close the window. Drain holes 78 are provided in the sill. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also a window having two parallel hinged sashes leaving an open space above and below hinged upper and lower sashes and intermediate sliding sashes balanced one against the other on the inner side and a hinged upper and lower sash on the outer side. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
