490,796. Noise-excluding double windows. FISK, SIR E. T. Aug. 7, 1937, No. 21823. [Class 20 (iii)] A sound-excluding ventilating window is provided with two or more glazed panels leaving openings on alternate sides between one edge and the frame, and with one or more of the panels projecting at its free edge into a recess 20 with an air space clearance. The panels may have a part hinged or adapted to slide horizontally and additional panels 24, 25 adapted to close the opening completely may be provided. The recess may be lined with sound-suppressing material 16, such as felt or sponge rubber.
