Fixed-chamber apparatus.-Apparatus for measuring and dispensing liquid, particularly lubricating oil, comprises a measuring chamber 2, an inlet valve 44 controlling a supply pipe 46, a piston valve 19 controlling ports 20 leading to the discharge pipe 16, and trigger actuating and controlling mechanism. Brackets 31, 32 are mounted on the end plate 5 of the chamber 2. The spring-pressed trigger 35 works within a. slot in the lower bracket which also has a' depending portion 33 for convenience in working the trigger. Actuation of the trigger brings the lug 59 against the end 5S of the link 56 through which and the bell-crank lever 53 the inlet valve 44 is opened to allow the liquid to pass through the passages 49, 50 into the chamber 2, pushing back the spring-pressed piston 23 until the gland 29 strikes the adjustable stops 30. At the same time the links 60, 61 alter the indication at the window 64. The return of the trigger brings the end 38 of the bolt 34 against the link 39 connected to the rod 41 of the piston valve 19 which is then lifted off its seat 17 and uncovers the ports 20. To ensure that the chamber 2 is full before discharge commences, the trigger may be locked in its backward position. For this purpose the end of a spring-presed bell-crank lever engages the toothed upper surface of the lug 59 as the trigger is brought back, and holds it until a spring-pressed rod passing through the end 5 of the chamber is caused by the piston 23 to lift the bell-crank from engagement with the trigger.
