Propelling by means other than adhesion driving wheels and racks.-For propelling cars, an air propeller is arranged at the throat of a passage through the body, which is flared towards 'the front and in some cases to the rear. Fig. 2 shows a cross-section of an aeroplane wing in which a propeller 1 is arranged at the throat of a laterally flared opening in the leading edge and discharges through hole 6 in the dorsal surface. Alternatively the air may be discharged through a transversely extended slot at the trailing edge. French Specification 409,039 is referred to.
