Signs.-Daylight signs of the type having a stencil and an angularly arranged reflector are made effective at night by applying luminous paint, paper or like light emitting material to the stencil or reflector. The stencil may be formed of a sheet of glass d, Figs. 6 and 7, having a rear roughened surface and a front surface covered with a sheet of tinfoil d<1> with cut-out lettering d<2> the front surface of the tin-foil being coated with white enamel &c. d<3>. The letters are outlined with strips of luminous paint &c. f. The cut-out lettering may be formed with alternate clear strips and luminous paint strips. The front or back of the tin-foil may be coated with luminous paint according to the type of sign used or luminous paint letters may be provided on the mirror. The mirror b, Fig. 2, may be pivoted as at its upper edge b<1> and be provided with spring clips such as b<3> and a screw adjustment b<2>. The stencil may be similarly adjustable. A transparent protecting cover g is provided in front of the stencil d. Two such signs may be arranged back to back to form a duplex sign.
