Abstract

476,715. Changing signs. PLANCKE, A. DE. Dec. 21, 1936, No. 35035. [Class 3 (i)] In signs comprising a front sheet of gauze, bearing a display, superposed on a rear sheet of transparent or translucent material bearing a different display, one display or the other being revealed according to whether the sign is illuminated by lamps at the front or lamps at the rear, the gauze is of opaque material and has its front surface whitened before the application of the design thereto by printing, painting, stencilling, &c. The pigments are applied to the gauze so as not to clog the interstices. The front of the sign may be constantly illuminated by natural light instead of intermittently by artificial. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 17040/96, 17532/06, [both in Class 3], and 10443/15, [Class 3 (i)].
