Abstract
304,514. Chalice, L., and Chalice, E. L. March 28, 1928. Current motors; regulating.-In a windmill of the current motor type having feathering vanes the vanes 9, Fig. 1, are interconnected by members 10, 11, 12 so that they form, when all are closed, a more or less symmetrical drum. In the modification shown in Fig. 3 the vanes 9 are formed as sails the inner edges of which are connected by rings to rods 19 which have rollers 20 running on cross bars 13. At excessive speeds the rods 19 move outwards against the action of the springs 16 and the sails 9 are automatically furled.
