Abstract
200,551. Smith, G., and Fitzjohn, F. March 14, 1922. Current motors ; regulating.- The shaft 1 of a wind motor carries a number of radial frames 2 supporting a series of pivoted frames 6 carrying pivoted vanes 7 which automatically feather as they travel against the wind- To prevent excessive speed, the angularity of the vanes is adjusted by a speed governor working through linkage 12, which may also be adjusted manually to stop the motor. The active surface of the vanes 7 may be corrugated, and the vane may be edged with rubber, felt, or the like to prevent noise. The vanes may be made of doped fabric.
