Abstract

304,460. Parkinson, T. Jan. 13, 1928. Jigger-machines; vats &c., raising and lowering.-In apparatus comprising roller-provided becks, as b, d, mounted on a frame k so as to be movable circularly about an axis m, and wherein yarns or fabrics are passed backwards and forwards through the becks from roll to roll (as z<1>), one) or more of the becks as b is divided into compartments, whereby a greater number or variety of materials may be treated at once. The shaft m is 'hollow and conveys steam through pipes n and the trunnions at k<1> to the becks. A hand-wheel and worm-gearing are provided for turning the frame so that either the beck d instead of the beck b is brought uppermost for use, or the becks are horizontal as shown in dotted lines, in which position a fabric may pass successively through each beck (being for instance first dyed and then washed) continuously, while a second fabric may pass through the second compartment of the beck b and through the beck d. Each transmission roller x, w is divided, one part being capable of being independently driven.
