Abstract
304,196. Hanemann, H. Jan. 16, 1928, [Convention date]. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Annealing.-In a process for improving pieces of steel, the pieces are heated electrically uniformly quickly through their entire crosssection beyond the Ar3 point at not more than 50‹ C. above the point. The pieces are first heated in a furnace for a long time to a temperature of 50‹-20‹ C. below the Ar3 point. The pieces are then heated electrically either by direct resistance heating or by eddy currents, the current being cut off soon after the temperature has passed the Ar3 point. In some cases the pieces may be heated again beyond the Ar3 point.
