Catamenial appliances. - A sanitary towel comprises an easily disintegrated pad B and a sheet of medicated gauze H surrounded by a gauze cover A extending at both ends but at one slightly more than the other; the ends are slit and knotted at E and knotted again at G to form loops. The material of the pad B is cut cross-wise to prevent it from breaking away when in use. In a modification the ends of the gauze are knotted to separate loops.
