[Class 81 (ii)] The ends 2 of the gauze wrapping of a catamenial pad 1 are tapered and impregnated with a plastic or adhesive material such as a synthetic resin, and a buttonhole 12 is formed in the portion so reinforced. The tapering may be effected by folding the rectangular ends inwards or cutting off the corners, or by turning over alternate pads in a continuous process of manufacture before the pads are separated from one another. Specification 412,521 is referred to.
