Abstract
303,090. Reyrolle & Co., Ltd., A., Brierly, R. H., Yorkshire Switchgear &. Engineering Co., Ltd., Isherwood, W. H., and Norton, R. T. Sept. 28, 1927. Addition to 267,593. Fusible cut-outs.-A fuse wire A is kept from contact with surrounding oil by enclosing it in a tube A<1> of glass, celluloid, &c. which is fractured when the wire fuses, and to the ends of which spring tension is applied. The tube A<1> is cemented into metal caps A<2> to which the wire A is connected. Lugs A<3> on the caps A<2> are removably screwed to connectors B attached by springs E and flexible leads C to blocks D mounted on the lid H of the oil tank H<1>. Spring plunger contacts D' connect the fuse to the fixed contacts J when the lid is closed. The tube &c. may contain an inert gas such as nitrogen or carbon dioxide or a liquid such as carbon tetrachloride.
