Abstract

246,315. English Electric Co., Ltd., and Pooley, A. M. Jan. 31, 1925. Fusible cut-outs; bases. - A mounting for a cartridge fuse 1 on a panel 2 of conducting material comprises a porcelain base 4 fixed to the back of the panel by bolts 15 so that it surrounds the hole in the panel through which the cartridge passes. A metal bar 11 secured to the base by bolts 10 serves as the back terminal for the cart ridge, and a metal ring 7 secured by bolts 9 makes contact with a screwed lining 21 in a porcelain cap 6, which lining serves as the front terminal. The bolts 9, 10 have their heads embedded in the base. An insulating cup 12 secured to the bar 11 bv a screw 3 serves as an interchangeable gauge ring which will only admit cartridges having back ends less than a certain diameter. An observation window is provided in the cap 6.
