Aeroplanes; helicopters; steering; floats, arrangement of.-An aircraft has its supporting planes 11, propellers in casings 10 and engines formed as a unit adapted to pivot about a transverse axis on the machine so as to assume a horizontal, vertical, or any intermediate position. Preferably biplane supporting surfaces 11 are employed carried by two wheel-like structures 4 adapted to be rotated in supports 3 carried by V-shaped members 2 from the body 1. Two engines are secured to the outsides of the structures 4 for driving two screws in the non-rotary casings 10. In the case of a seaplane two sets of lateral floats 12, 121, for use respectively during gliding and vertical descents are secured to the planes 11. Two rudders 13 are mounted near the ends of the wings and an elevator 16 is provided on the body. A modification is described in which the unit is pivoted on a transverse shaft supported by brackets from the body.
