Abstract

619,064. Aircraft control surfaces. SOC. NATIONALE DE CONSTRUCTIONS AERONAUTIQUES DU SUD-EST. July 4, 1946, No. 20042. Convention date, Jan. 16. [Class 4] The control surfaces of an aircraft are disposed at the extremities by beams secured at their other ends to the wing tips, and arranged so that the surfaces lie outside the slipstream of the wings. As shown, the beams 2 are directed rearwardly from the wings 1 and support horizontal surfaces 3 carrying elevons 7, the tail fins and rudders 4 being mounted either in the planes of the beams 2 or, as shown, on the outside edges of the surfaces 3. The beams 2 may be hollow and may house landing wheels, or skids, tanks, engines, &c.
