Abstract
686,304. Mounting aircraft wings. FARREY AVIATION CO., Ltd. Jan. 9, 1950. [Jan. 11, 1949] No. 753/49. Class 4. [Also in Group XXI] An arrangement for attaching a pair of wings or vanes 10 to the fuselage 12 of an aircraft comprises a rod-like spar 24 secured at its outboard end to one wing root and passing through the fuselage 12, its opposite end being received in a socket 19 constituting the inboard end of a second spar secured to the other wing root, detachable anchoring means such as a nut and bolt 29 being passed through the socket 19 and a spigot 25 at the end of the spar 24. The wings or vanes may have positioning means such as dowels for engagement with complementary recesses in the surface of the fuselage 12.
