[Class 4] In a landing wheel of the type provided with blades or vanes 3, which serve to rotate the wheel prior to landing, the blades have their working surfaces 4 substantially normal to the medial plane of the wheel, while their other surfaces 5 are inclined thereto. A hood or spat 1 may be fitted over the upper portion of the wheel, and may be fixed, or adjustable to control the number of blades exposed to the air stream.
