Abstract

302,440. Tullis, D. R. Oct. 12, 1927. Alloys.-An aluminium alloy containing boron, 3-16 per cent of zinc, 1-16 per cent of silicon, and 0.2-1 per cent of chromium is made by adding to a bath of molten aluminium a chromium-aluminium alloy rich in chromium, then a silicon-chromium alloy rich in silicon, and afterwards zinc, and finally treating the bath with boron trichloride as described in Specification 272,326. The chromium may be replaced by manganese.
