Condensers. - A condenser unit, which may serve as a spacing member or end piece for a condenser built up of one or more sections and to secure mechanical strength, high compression of the elements, and greater heat radiation, comprises a core of insulation and a metallic covering consisting of one or more, preferably transversely arranged with respect to one another, wrappings for the core. The core 1 comprises superposed sheets of mica which are first partly enclosed by a strip 2 of metal foil, the ends 5 of which are folded as in Fig. 5, and is then covered by a further strip at right angles to the first, the ends 7 of this strip covering the ends 5 of the first.
