Cores.-In a process for preparing laminations for the cores of dynamos, &c., carbon-containing iron or an iron alloy containing at least 40 per cent of nickel is subjected to a single heating in air or oxygen until not only a partial decarbonization but also a partial oxidation throughout has taken place.
