A soft magnetic alloy consists of .Mn.above 0.25% but not more than 4% .C.less than 0.01% .Si.not more than 3.5% .Al.not more than 8% .S.not more than 0.025% .Fe.remainder The alloy in sheet or strip form is suitable for use in the production of cores for electrical transformers or the rotors or stators for rotating electric machines.
