Abstract

A cored welding wire is made from an iron alloy containing 0,12-0,32 per cent of carbon, 0,35-1 per cent of silicon, 0,7-1,6 per cent of manganese, and 0,25-0,5 per cent of zirconium, with or without the addition of 0,4-1,5 per cent of nickel and 0,15 per cent of molybdenum. The core may consist of 80-95 per cent of lime, 2-15 per cent of aluminium, and 3-15 per cent of manganese; or the manganese may be wholly or partly replaced by aluminium. British Specification 459,715 and Austrian Specification 135,672 are referred to.
