300,730. Anderson, A., and Anderson, Boyes, & Co., Ltd. Sept. 8, 1927. Coal-cutting machines.-A coal-cutting machine of the chain type is provided with a scraper 4 of less depth than the cut and approximately as long as the jib 2, whereby a heap of cuttings is maintained in the cut adjacent to the jib to form a blanket enclosing the zone in which cutting is being effected, so as to lessen the risk, or prevent the spread, of explosions originating at the cutters. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 116,231 and 116,744.
