Abstract
367,087. Mining coal &c. MAVOR &. COULSON, Ltd., MAVOR, J. B., and SPROUL, J. C., 47, Broad Street, Mile-End, Glasgow. Dec. 16, 1930, No. 37853. [Class 68 (i).] The cutter chain of a machine for mining coal &c. is provided in addition to the ordinary cutters with secondary cutters comprising one or more transverse series of teeth extending substantially across the width of the kerf, each series being provided on one or more members each having a row of teeth, and the teeth being arranged for operation between the lines of cut of the ordinary cutters. In Figs. 1 and 4, a member C is reversibly fixed to either end of a chain link A by two set screws 5 and has a series of teeth 6 with cutting faces 7 of wearresisting material. One series of teeth may be divided between two or more members such as C<1>, Fig. 5. Two or more series of teeth may be provided at equal distances apart along the cutter chain.
