Abstract
299,119. Kenyon, D., Evans, H., and Great Harwood Refrigerator & Engineering Co., Ltd. Aug. 4, 1927. Flexible diaphragm pumps.-The gas receiving chamber 2 is separated from the crank chamber 1 and compressor chamber 7 by diaphragms 3, 8, the gas passing into the compressor chamber by the valve 27 on the downward stroke. Leakage of gas, and its contamination by lubricant are prevented. The diaphragms are connected to a plunger 17 and the boss of a spider 19 sliding in the chambers 2, 1 respectively. The driving shaft 22 has spiral oil grooves 29 communicating through a passage 31 with oil in the crank chamber. Several compressor chambers of successively diminishing bores may be disposed in line. Any number of compressors, single, double or multiple, may be arranged around a single crank chamber and driven from a common shaft.
