Abstract

263,053. Papßckovß, S. Imhoff-. July 21, 1926. Valves, arrangement of.-The oppositely moving pistons of a balanced high speed compressor are provided each with a pair of channels forming outlet ports communicating at the piston circumference with the cylinder spaces on opposite sides of the piston, the ports being in different meridians and situated so that outlet takes place through cylinder ports at the inner and outer dead points respectively. The cylinder jacket 3 is divided into suction and pressure chambers 4, 5 by diametral partitions. Inlet ports 16, 17 are formed in the pistons at a distance apart equal to the stroke, and coinmunicate with the inlet space through cylinder ports 12. Outlet passages 28, 29 deliver the compressed air through cylinder ports 13 to the pressure space 5.
